MAK-10™

Advanced professional-use respiratory antigen panel for broader screening of COVID-19, Influenza A/B, HPIV, RSV, Adenovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae and hMPV. Designed for healthcare and institutional use where broader respiratory differentiation is required.
Extended respiratory panel with simplified sample application for broad professional screening.

Best fit: hospitals, clinics, laboratories, public health programs, institutional procurement.

Pathogens Covered by our MAK™ Tests

Different respiratory infections can present with similar symptoms. Multipathogen testing helps healthcare providers, institutions and consumers distinguish between common respiratory pathogens more efficiently than using separate single-pathogen tests.

SARS-CoV-2

COVID-19 remains relevant in respiratory screening, especially during seasonal waves, workplace outbreaks, travel-related exposure and vulnerable population management.

Influenza A

A major seasonal respiratory virus often associated with stronger symptom burden, fever, cough and body aches. Early differentiation can support timely clinical decisions.

Influenza B

Another important influenza virus included in broader respiratory screening, especially during flu seasons and mixed respiratory outbreaks.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

RSV is relevant not only in children, but also in adults and vulnerable groups. A German MAK-5 self-testing study found RSV to be the second most frequently detected pathogen after SARS-CoV-2 among symptomatic participants.

Adenovirus (ADV)

ADV can contribute to respiratory illness and is included in MAK-5, MAK-6 and MAK-10 to support broader differential screening.

hMPV

Human Metapneumovirus is covered by MAK-6 and MAK-10 and is relevant in broader professional respiratory screening, especially where COVID, flu and RSV alone do not explain symptoms.

HPIV2

Human Parainfluenza Virus Type 2 is included in MAK-10 for professional respiratory screening where broader viral differentiation is required.

HPIV1/3

Human Parainfluenza Virus Types 1 and 3 are covered as part of the MAK-10 extended respiratory panel, supporting wider screening beyond COVID-19, flu and RSV.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP)

A bacterial respiratory pathogen included in MAK-10. Relevant for broader professional screening where atypical pneumonia or persistent respiratory symptoms are considered.

Streptococcus pneumoniae (SP)

Included in MAK-10 for extended professional respiratory screening where broader pathogen differentiation is required.

Why respiratory multipathogen testing matters

Respiratory symptoms often look similar, but the underlying pathogen can be different. Multipathogen rapid testing helps reduce guesswork, supports faster screening workflows and gives healthcare providers, institutions and consumers better information at the point of decision.

One Sample, Multiple Answers

Screen for several common respiratory pathogens from one swab in one well only instead of relying on multiple separate tests.

Faster Screening Decisions

Results within minutes can support faster triage, isolation decisions, workplace health measures and next-step clinical assessment.

Stronger Seasonal Readiness

Useful during flu seasons, respiratory outbreaks, corporate health programs and healthcare environments with high patient flow.

Simpler Testing Through One Sample Well

MAK-5_One_Sample_One_Well

MAK™ test cards use a patented bidirectional flow design that allows multiple pathogens to be detected from one sample well. Instead of adding drops into several separate wells, the user applies the sample once and the test distributes it across the detection areas. This makes the workflow easier, faster and less error-prone — especially for self-testing, pharmacy use and busy healthcare environments.

Self-Test vs Professional Use

Not every respiratory test has the same regulatory and commercial use case. For Europe, this distinction is critical: MAK-5 is positioned as a CE IVDR self-test, while MAK-6 and MAK-10 are professional-use products.

Self-Test / OTC Use

Self-tests are designed for lay users and can support pharmacy, retail, e-commerce and home-testing channels where permitted by local regulation. MAK-5 is the key product in this category.

Professional Use / NPT

Professional-use tests are intended for trained users in healthcare, clinical, occupational health or institutional environments. MAK-6 and MAK-10 are positioned for professional near-patient testing and broader screening workflows.

Our position in Europe and Asia

SP-Asia connects diagnostic innovation between Europe and Asia. Based in Singapore and shaped by European business heritage, we understand both European expectations for compliance, documentation and trust, and Asian strengths in manufacturing, supply chain and market execution.
For Europe, MAK-5 is currently the priority product for self-testing and OTC-oriented channels due to its CE IVDR Class C self-test positioning. MAK-6 and MAK-10 extend the portfolio for professional healthcare and institutional applications.
For Asia and Southeast Asia, market access depends on local registration requirements. SP-Asia supports partners with product evaluation, documentation review, supplier coordination and practical B2B market development.

Backed by Regulatory Documentation and Real-World Study Experience

German Study

In a German VACCELERATE pilot study published in Frontiers in Public Health, 1,429 participants reported MAK-5 self-testing results during one winter season. Among symptomatic participants, SARS-CoV-2, RSV and Influenza A were the most frequently detected pathogens. The study concluded that self-testing enabled real-time reporting of five endemic ARI pathogens in a citizen science setting.

Regulatory Positioning in Europe

MAK-5 is the key product for Europe’s self-test and OTC-oriented channels. It is CE IVDR Class C positioned for lay users and intended for qualitative detection of COVID-19, Influenza A/B, RSV and Adenovirus from anterior nasal swab specimens.
MAK-6 and MAK-10 extend the portfolio for professional-use environments such as clinics, healthcare providers, occupational health and institutional screening. These products are positioned for professional IVD / near-patient testing use, not as consumer self-tests.
All sales channels, claims and market access routes remain subject to local regulatory requirements and country-specific registration pathways.

Trusted Excellence

Use Cases

Pharmacies & OTC Retail

MAK-5 supports consumer-facing respiratory self-testing, especially during flu seasons and periods of increased respiratory infections.

Clinics & Healthcare Providers

MAK-5, MAK-6 and MAK-10 can support faster front-line screening and help healthcare teams differentiate between common respiratory pathogens.

Employers & Corporate Health

Useful for workplace health programs, flu season preparedness and reducing unnecessary uncertainty when employees develop respiratory symptoms.

Public Health, Research & Surveillance

Multipathogen self-testing was used in a German VACCELERATE volunteer study to monitor community-acquired acute respiratory infections outside the traditional medical setting.
